Winter long knitted Beanie, in Stockinette Stitch and a K1P1 rib edge treatment. It’s great for beginners.
To Knit this pattern you have to know:
Knit in circular and make decreases.
- 2 skeins of Debbie Bliss, “Cashmerino Aran” (55% Wool, 33% Acrylic e 12% Cashmere, 90m in a 50g skein), in color #Beige;
You can change the yarn for an Aran, Afghan or Worsted weight yarn that knits 18.5sts over 4”/10cm.
- Interchangeable Short Knitting Needles, 4mm (6 U.S.), KnitPro “Symfonie”, or the required size needles to obtain the gauge;
- 15.74”/40cm Cable;
- 31.50”/80cm Cable or a 4mm (6 U.S.) Double Pointed Needle;
- 4 Markers (one needs to be in a different color);
- Tapestry needle;
- Measuring tape.
18.5 stitches and 27 rows over a 4”/10cm square in Stockinette Stitch.
Teen / Adult
(For head’s circumference with 19.70”/50cm or more.)
- Circumference: 13”/33cm
- Height: 10.25”/26cm
K2tog.: Knit two stitches together (decrease)
K2tog tbl.: Knit two stitches together through the back loop (decrease)
s.m.: Slip Marker
The beanie is knitted in circular.
Stitches and Techniques:
K1P1 Rib: K1, P1 all the rounds.
Stockinette Stitch: Knit all the rounds.
With the 4mm (6 U.S.) Interchangeable Short Knitting Needles and the 15.74”/40cm Cable, cast on 80sts and join in round, placing the marker (different color) before knit the first stitch.
1º round.: *K1, P1*, repeat from * to * until the end of the round.
Repeat the 1º round until the piece measures 2.5in (6.5cm) from the beginning.
From here you will work in Stockinette Stitch, knitting all the rounds until the piece measures for 7.5in (19cm) from the beginning.
Next Round.: [K20, place marker] 3x, K20.
Change for the 31.50”/80cm cable or for the 4mm (6 U.S.) Double Pointed Needles.
1ª Round.: K2tog, Knit to last 2sts before 2nd marker, K2tog tbl, s.m., K2tog, Knit to last 2sts before 3rd marker, K2tog tbl, s.m., K2tog, Knit to last 2sts before 4rd marker, K2tog tbl, s.m., K2tog, Knit to last 2sts, K2tog tbl.
2ª Round.: Knit all sts, slipping the markers.
Repeat the last two rounds until you have 16sts on the needles.
Next Round.: [K2tog, K2tog tbl, remove marker] 3x, K2tog, K2tog tbl. (8sts)
Sew the loose ends.
Your Aran Beanie is finished.
